Todd Cochrane, CEO of RawVoice just announced the following news:
In March the affiliate owners of TechPodcasts.com agreed to an acquisition/merger with RawVoice. Today we re-launched the website utilizing the RawVoice Generator.
While I have personally been involved with TPN since it’s formation the network has always been owned by the affiliates. Podcast Connect was the admin arm for the network paying out advertising revenues, server cost etc.
Up to this point though the TPN team has been on it’s own. Today that is no longer the case. Many of the tenants of the original site will be maintained with members shows agreeing to produce child safe shows and membership on the site will not be automatic.
We encourage any of you that were not members already, and have Technical shows to apply for membership please read the TOS carefully. This is a great opportunity to be part of a strong branded site. We will have more details of the deal on the RawVoice website later today and I will be releasing a special podcast on the TPN blog.
Congrats on the acquisition Todd!

Tara Hunt on the direction she and Chris are focused on for Citizen agency when blogging about ben leaving:
"Still, we think that doors closing mean that new ones open and we know that ben will do well in whatever he pursues. Chris and I will continue the work we are doing and remain committed to ‘Thinking Small‘ and working towards being remarkable instead of big."
Ca's vision as described at Gnomedex made a lot of sense to me. I have been living the vision for a decade w/o even knowing it. I suppose that's why I'm drawn to their work. Have a look at the book, the slides and the video (links above) and see if it makes sense to you. It isn't for everyone, and it's not "right" or "wrong," it's situation specific. What it "is" is simply pure and good.
Think small. bring people together one at a time. Think local. Help others. Do good. Think personal. Stay focused. be remarkable. Don't compromise. Think small. be part of a niche. It's okay.

ben Metcalf has announced that he is leaving Citizen agency, the firm he* co-founded with* by Tara Hunt and Chris Messina. *Correction: a pick nitter has informed The agency blog that ben is actually a partner in the firm, not a co-founder. We correct the record here, our journalistic integrity somewhat intact.
via twitter:
dotben – Just announced the sad news that I've decided to leave Citizen agency (see blog). My tummy feels all jumbley now! 7 minutes ago from web
I met ben briefly last summer during a dinner at Gnomedex. We were having dinner after one of the days had wrapped up and he was speaking with Robert Scoble about his experiences at the bbC. He had some very definite opinions about the bbC and was very knowledgeable in technology.
So why is he leaving? Looks like the primary reason that most business partnerships break up: different vision. he says:
…as time has passed at Citizen agency, it has become clear that my views as to where I would like to see the business headed differ to those of Chris and Tara. Obviously there can only be one long-term direction in a company, and so after much head scratching and deliberation around the table I’ve decided to make a move sooner rather than stick with something which is not going to work out for me.
I believe him when says it's an amicable parting.
before Valleywag calls, I’m pleased to say that’s it’s all very amicable and we remain friends!
as long as everyone involved is mature and cares about each other, it's easy, and perhaps the most healthy path to take, to see the situation as it simply is and move on.
So what is he going to do now to put porridge on the table? He doesn't know. He'll hang out at Citizen for a couple of months and see what his options are. If you are in the market for a CTO and community builder in the bay area, you may want to look him up.
