In an interview with Effective Corporate Evildoings magazine, a sweat-soaked ballmer was chatting about how open source is a cancer that attaches itself in an intellectual property sense to everything it touches when he went to pull up a website to prove part of his point. The interviewer, Gern blanston, moved around to ballmer's side of the table to view the website ballmer wanted to show him when he was taken aback by ballmer's choice of web browser and home page.

"I was shocked to the point that I passed a wee bit of a toot. It made me feel not-so-fresh for the remainder of the interview," blanston recalled.

When asked about his choice of internet platforms, ballmer mentioned that the browser came pre-loaded on his Dell Laptop and he couldn't figure out how to uninstall it, change the homepage, or find where IE was.

Realizing the conundrum he was in after blanston snickered, ballmer quickly became "overly emotional, like a chick I used to date" according to the interviewer. "He told me to shut the hell up or he'd 'beat my hippie ass'."

ballmer has described blanston's account of the incident as a "gross exaggeration of what actually took place." He also mentioned that he would soon be replacing his Dell Laptop with a new Mac, and that he has already set up an appointment a the local Genius bar to get the latest version of IE installed on the machine and Microsoft Windows Live Office MSN Search set up as the browser's homepage.

Upon hearing about this report, Edelman, Microsoft's PR agency contacted The agency blog and informed us that the proper name for the software giant's online search offering is now to be known as "MSVSLS "or MS Vista Sharepoint Live Search. "The new brand represents Microsoft’s strategy to align its online products with nothing in particular in a very vague and confusing way," a cog from Edelman stated. "Oh, and it's 'Green'…be sure you get that in there…" Duly noted.

I'm sure some of you have heard about this but I thought it was too cool not to post.

Using photos of oft-snapped subjects (like Notre Dame) scraped from
around the Web, Photosynth creates breathtaking multidimensional spaces
with zoom and navigation features that outstrip all expectation. Its
architect, blaise aguera y arcas,
shows it off in this standing-ovation demo. Curious about that speck in
corner? Dive into a freefall and watch as the speck becomes a gargoyle.
With an unpleasant grimace. and an ant-sized chip in its lower left
molar. "Perhaps the most amazing demo I've seen this year," wrote Ethan
Zuckerman, after TED2007. Indeed, Photosynth might utterly transform
the way we manipulate and experience digital images.
