This group has been dormant long enough. I have been amazed over the
past year with how many podcasters are located in our area. Let's get
together at Cafe brazil in Plano and have a casual talk about how we
are going to kick off 2008 with the DFW Podcaster Meetup. all who want
to participate in getting the group back online are invited. but please
note that this is a *planning* meeting, not the first, er…refirst
meeting for general podcasting goodness.
My expectation is to
make this group *the* premier new media group in Texas in 6 months. So
I need a few folks that are organized, disciplined, ready to work hard
and reap the rewards of building a social media group that newbies,
experts, and traditional media alike look to for the best in
information podcasting, online video, new media, and citizen
journalism.
We will be discussing meeting format, potential
meeting topics, location suggestions, speaker suggestions, and
promotional ideas.
I look forward to meeting all of you, eating migas and drinking buckets of coffee.

William, The Geekbrief.tv intern saw that Justine Ezairk (iJustine) was in town to shoot some social media spots for us last month for xTrain.com. He found out that we were going to be at the apple Store @ Knox/Henderson in Dallas and sprung into action.
after Cali took her driving test, he got Cali & Neal to the apple store and introduced them to Justine an hour or so before we all got kicked out by the big gay apple store manager. Sorry to be so blunt, but my gaydar was off the charts.

Todd Cochrane, CEO of RawVoice just announced the following news:
In March the affiliate owners of TechPodcasts.com agreed to an acquisition/merger with RawVoice. Today we re-launched the website utilizing the RawVoice Generator.
While I have personally been involved with TPN since it’s formation the network has always been owned by the affiliates. Podcast Connect was the admin arm for the network paying out advertising revenues, server cost etc.
Up to this point though the TPN team has been on it’s own. Today that is no longer the case. Many of the tenants of the original site will be maintained with members shows agreeing to produce child safe shows and membership on the site will not be automatic.
We encourage any of you that were not members already, and have Technical shows to apply for membership please read the TOS carefully. This is a great opportunity to be part of a strong branded site. We will have more details of the deal on the RawVoice website later today and I will be releasing a special podcast on the TPN blog.
Congrats on the acquisition Todd!

Looks like I'm published! Who'd a'thunk it?
Podcast User Magazine used some pics I shot from the Podcast Expo in their Nov 2006 issue. Funny that I just stumbled across them. I guess I just got busy and forgot that they asked about publishing the pics.
