RawVoice acquires the Tech Podcast Network

Todd Cochrane, CEO of RawVoice just announced the following news:

In March the affiliate owners of TechPodcasts.com agreed to an acquisition/merger with RawVoice. Today we re-launched the website utilizing the RawVoice Generator.

While I have personally been involved with TPN since it’s formation the network has always been owned by the affiliates. Podcast Connect was the admin arm for the network paying out advertising revenues, server cost etc.

Up to this point though the TPN team has been on it’s own. Today that is no longer the case. Many of the tenants of the original site will be maintained with members shows agreeing to produce child safe shows and membership on the site will not be automatic.

We encourage any of you that were not members already, and have Technical shows to apply for membership please read the TOS carefully. This is a great opportunity to be part of a strong branded site. We will have more details of the deal on the RawVoice website later today and I will be releasing a special  podcast on the TPN blog.

Congrats on the acquisition Todd!

QuesoTV: Todd Ross Nienkerk – Web 5.0 Goodness from barcampaustin II

While at the University of Texas at austin, Todd Ross Nienkerk spent five years on the staff of the Texas Travesty, the largest college humor publication in the nation. The unique, meritocractic structure of the Travesty taught him every aspect of magazine production. Writing, illustration, photography, ad sales, distribution—Todd did a bit of everything, even spending two proud, lucky years as the Travesty’s editor-in-chief.

after graduating in May, 2005, with a ba in psychology and a bS in radio-television-film—at UT, radio and film are considered “sciences,” while psychology is merely an “art”—Todd spent a year working in an office, applying to various graduate creative writing programs and filing their all-too-speedy rejection letters.

Nuts to this, he told the voice in his head, and his friends and Todd started Four Kitchen Studios.

In this video podcast from barcamp austin II, Todd shares a glimpse into the future with a presentation of a new Web 5.0 technology he has been working on in his…kitchen.
